A major roadblock in structural studies is production of the molecule of interest in large quantities: for both X-ray crystallography and NMR, milligram quantities of material are typically required. As part of the New Center for Structural Biology, a Laboratory for Protein Production has now been established. This is fully equipped for protein expression purification and biophysical characterization and is staffed by a full-time technician. The lab also contains equipment for biophysical characterization of proteins, including circular dichroism and dynamic light scattering.

Open to all investigators. This lab will purify proteins according to a fee schedule published on the lab web site. Orders are made using an online request system.
